Kelly Park Rock Springs Elopement Photos in Apopka, Florida – Karalyn & Carlos
There’s something incredibly refreshing about a wedding day that strips away all the expectations and focuses on what truly matters.
For Karalyn and Carlos, that meant exchanging vows surrounded by crystal-clear spring water, towering oak trees, and just a handful of the people they love most.
Instead of planning a large celebration, they chose an intimate weekday wedding at Kelly Park Rock Springs in Apopka, Florida. Their guest list consisted of only four people: their officiant, Karalyn's mom, a sibling, and their best friend. It was quiet, relaxed, and beautifully personal from beginning to end.
When they first reached out to me, they shared that they had never actually visited Kelly Park Rock Springs before. They had fallen in love with photos they had seen from weddings and engagement sessions I'd photographed there and were hoping I could help guide them through planning their own wedding day.
One of the biggest advantages of working with a photographer who knows a location well is being able to plan around the experience, not just the photographs. Kelly Park is one of Central Florida's most popular natural attractions, so I recommended choosing a weekday morning and arriving right when the gates opened. That way they could enjoy the park before the crowds arrived.
It was exactly the right decision.
As we walked to one of the most recognizable spots along Rock Springs Run, the water was calm, the light was soft, and it felt like they had the entire spring to themselves.
A Peaceful Ceremony at Kelly Park Rock Springs
Standing on the limestone rocks overlooking the spring, Karalyn and Carlos exchanged heartfelt vows with the gentle sound of flowing water behind them.
Although only a few loved ones were there in person, another family member was still able to witness the ceremony thanks to FaceTime. One guest carefully held up a phone throughout the ceremony so they could watch every moment live from miles away.
It was a simple reminder that no matter how small a wedding may be, the people who matter most always find a way to be part of it.
Their ceremony was filled with smiles, happy tears, and the kind of calm that only comes when a couple is completely present with one another.
The Sweetest First Dance by the Spring
One of my favorite moments from the entire day happened immediately after they were pronounced husband and wife.
Instead of saving their first dance for a reception later that evening, they decided to dance together right there beside the spring where they had just exchanged vows.
As music played, their best friend ran circles around them blowing bubbles while everyone laughed.
There wasn't a dance floor.
There wasn't an audience.
Just two newlyweds soaking in the first few minutes of married life together.
Those unscripted moments are often the ones couples remember forever, and this one couldn't have been more perfect.
Family Portraits and Exploring Rock Springs Together
After the ceremony, we spent time photographing family portraits before exploring the spring for portraits of just the two of them.
The turquoise water winding through Kelly Park creates one of the most unique backdrops anywhere in Central Florida. Combined with the towering cypress trees and lush greenery, every direction offers another beautiful place to photograph.
One of the things I love most about photographing at Kelly Park Rock Springs is how versatile it is. Within just a short walk, couples can enjoy riverside portraits, wooded pathways, limestone overlooks, and peaceful spots that feel completely secluded.
Because we arrived so early, we were able to enjoy many of these locations without crowds in the background, allowing the focus to stay exactly where it belonged: on Karalyn and Carlos.
The relaxed pace of the morning gave them time to laugh together, kick off their shoes, dip their feet into the cool spring water, and simply enjoy being together without feeling rushed.
A Simple Celebration with Cake and Champagne
After portraits, we made our way to one of the nearby pavilions where they had planned a small celebration with their family.
Waiting for them was a beautiful wedding cake, champagne, and a collection of snacks to enjoy together.
They cut their cake, shared a toast, and spent time talking, laughing, and celebrating one of the biggest days of their lives.
It wasn't about having a packed reception schedule.
It was about slowing down enough to enjoy every moment together.
Sometimes the smallest weddings leave the biggest memories.
Why Choose Kelly Park Rock Springs for an Elopement or Intimate Wedding?
Kelly Park Rock Springs is one of my favorite locations in Central Florida for couples planning an intimate wedding or elopement.
The crystal-clear spring water, tropical landscape, shaded walking trails, and peaceful atmosphere create an incredible setting for couples who want nature to be part of their wedding day.
Because the park is so popular, timing is everything. Choosing a weekday morning right when the park opens often provides the best lighting for photographs while avoiding the crowds that typically arrive later in the day.
If you're planning an intimate wedding here, having someone familiar with the location can make a huge difference. From helping choose the best ceremony location to building a timeline around the busiest hours of the park, a little planning goes a long way toward creating a relaxed experience.
Planning Your Own Kelly Park Rock Springs Wedding
If you're dreaming about getting married surrounded by Florida's natural beauty, Kelly Park Rock Springs offers an unforgettable setting for couples who want something simple, meaningful, and uniquely their own.
Whether you're planning an elopement with just a few guests or an intimate wedding followed by portraits around the spring, thoughtful planning allows you to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
As someone who has photographed multiple weddings, engagement sessions, and portraits at Kelly Park Rock Springs, I'm always happy to help couples understand the best times to visit, recommend beautiful portrait locations, and build a timeline that makes the most of the morning light.
A Wedding That Felt Completely Like Them
Looking back on Karalyn and Carlos' wedding day, what stands out most isn't the size of the guest list or the simplicity of the celebration.
It's how intentional every decision was.
They weren't trying to create a wedding that looked like anyone else's.
They created a wedding that reflected who they are.
From exchanging vows beside one of Florida's most beautiful natural springs to dancing together surrounded by bubbles, cutting cake with their closest family, and celebrating with champagne under the pavilion, every part of the day felt genuine.
It was peaceful.
It was joyful.
And it was exactly the beginning to their marriage they had hoped for.
