Wedding Photography FAQ
How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?
Most of my couples book approximately 10–14 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season in Central Florida between September and May. I’m currently almost fully booked about a year out.
Because I’m a boutique service and personally photograph and edit every wedding myself, I intentionally limit the number of weddings I take each month so I can give every couple the best experience possible. I typically only take about five weddings per month and try not to overload my weekends so I can fully focus on each couple and their gallery.
What happens after we book you for our wedding?
Once your wedding is officially booked, I’ll be in touch to start planning everything out with you.
If your package includes an engagement session, we’ll begin by scheduling that first. If you’re not doing an engagement session, the next major planning phase usually begins around two months before the wedding day.
At that point, I’ll start sending over questionnaires and information forms so I can learn more about your family dynamics, important relationships, vendor team, wedding details, and overall vision for the day.
Then, approximately one month before the wedding, we’ll schedule your final consultation. This is where we go through everything in detail together. We’ll review your family formal list so I know exactly who everyone is and which groupings are most important to you. We’ll also walk through the full wedding timeline from beginning to end to make sure everything flows smoothly and realistically.
This is where we plan out all the important moments like first looks, first touches, parent reveals, sunset portraits, private vows, special details, reception formalities, and anything else that matters most to you.
I also help make sure everyone understands timing logistics for the day, including when hair and makeup should arrive, when everyone should be fully ready, where family members need to be, and how the portrait portions of the day will flow.
My goal is always to help the wedding day feel organized, relaxed, and intentional so you can fully enjoy the experience instead of feeling stressed or rushed.
How many hours of wedding photography do we need?
This really depends on the size and flow of your wedding day. Smaller micro weddings, brunch weddings, or intimate celebrations may only need around 4–6 hours of coverage.
Most of the weddings I photograph are larger full-day celebrations with getting ready, portraits, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception events, dancing, and sunset photos. Because of that, I created The Full Story Collection so couples can enjoy full storytelling coverage without feeling rushed or limited by strict hourly coverage.
How many wedding photos will we receive?
On average, I deliver at least 100 edited images per hour of coverage. For a typical 8–10 hour wedding day, most couples receive approximately 1,000 images or more.
I also deliver your final gallery in both color and black & white versions, so you receive even more variety and storytelling throughout your collection.
How do we receive our wedding photos and videos?
Your final images are delivered through a private online gallery where you can easily view, download, share, and print your photographs.
The gallery stays online for a minimum of one year, although honestly, I still have many weddings and portrait sessions hosted from years ago. I always recommend downloading and backing up your images once you receive them, but I do my best to keep galleries available as long as possible.
Inside the gallery, you’ll be able to download your fully edited high-resolution images directly to your computer or phone. Please make sure to download the original high-resolution files rather than screenshotting the images so you maintain the best print quality possible.
You are welcome to print directly through my gallery store if you’d like, but you are never required to print through me. Your high-resolution images come with printing rights, so you’re free to print wherever you feel most comfortable.
The gallery can also easily be shared with friends and family so they can view, download, and print images as well. Password protection is completely optional and can be added if you’d like additional privacy for your gallery.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, absolutely.
I am fully licensed and insured, and most wedding venues require photographers and videographers to provide a Certificate of Insurance before the wedding day. I personally handle sending all required insurance documentation directly to your venue so you do not have to worry about coordinating that yourself.
Some venues, including Disney Fairy Tale Weddings, require vendors to carry higher liability insurance coverage limits. I meet those requirements as well and am able to provide the necessary documentation for venues with stricter insurance policies.
Making sure everything is properly covered and approved ahead of time is part of helping your wedding day run as smoothly and stress-free as possible.
Do you help with posing?
Absolutely. Most of my couples are not professional models, and honestly, that’s completely normal.
I gently guide and direct throughout the day so you never feel awkward wondering what to do with your hands or how to stand. I help with natural movement, flattering lighting, genuine expressions, posture, and little details that make a huge difference in photographs. My goal is always to create images that feel natural, timeless, romantic, and still very much like you.
Can we send you Pinterest inspiration photos?
Absolutely.
I actually love when couples send a small collection of inspiration photos because it helps me better understand the overall vibe, posing style, locations, or moments that are most important to you.
For example, if you’re getting married at a location like Disney’s Grand Floridian and send me inspiration photos taken on the grand staircase, that immediately tells me those are meaningful locations and moments you’d love incorporated into your wedding gallery. The same goes for specific poses, wedding party setups, detail shots, or overall aesthetic inspiration.
The biggest thing is simply not overwhelming the process with hundreds of images. I would say around a dozen inspiration photos total for a full wedding day is usually the perfect amount. That gives me enough direction to understand your vision while still allowing room for creativity, spontaneity, and authentic moments throughout the day.
At the end of the day, I want your photos to feel inspired by your vision while still being unique to your actual wedding experience.
Should we do a first look?
This is completely up to you, and honestly, both options can work beautifully.
If you decide not to do a first look, I usually photograph as many formal portraits separately before the ceremony as possible. This helps save a huge amount of time afterward so we’re not trying to squeeze every single family portrait, wedding party portrait, and couple’s portrait into cocktail hour.
If you choose to do a first look, it usually creates a much more relaxed timeline and gives us additional time for portraits before the ceremony. I also notice that first looks tend to help ease nerves and anxiety because couples get a quiet moment together before the day officially begins.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Florida weather is unpredictable, so I always help couples prepare backup plans ahead of time.
If it rains, we can move portraits indoors, under covered areas, or beneath awnings while still creating beautiful images. I also always carry professional lighting equipment and can create some really dramatic and romantic rain photos if you’re open to embracing the weather a little bit. Some of my favorite images have actually happened during rainy wedding days.
What is required to reserve our wedding date?
To officially reserve your wedding date, I require a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer equal to one-third of the total package price.
The remaining balance is due two weeks before the wedding day. I currently accept Zelle and Venmo payments. Credit card payments are also accepted with a 3% processing fee.
What is the turnaround time for wedding photos?
I personally hand-edit every wedding gallery myself, so quality and consistency are extremely important to me.
My maximum turnaround time is eight weeks, although many galleries are completed sooner whenever possible. Because I’m a boutique service and not a large studio outsourcing editing to multiple people, I really focus on delivering a polished gallery that feels cohesive and intentional.
Do you provide sneak peeks?
I typically do not provide traditional sneak peek galleries.
Because I personally edit everything myself, I usually prefer to spend that time focusing on getting your full gallery completed and delivered as quickly as possible instead of splitting my editing time between sneak peeks and the final gallery.
However, if you specifically need a few images shortly after the wedding for thank you cards or announcements, I’m always happy to discuss that during your final consultation.
Wedding Videography FAQ
Is wedding videography worth it?
Honestly, yes. If wedding videography can fit into your budget, I truly believe it is one of the most valuable investments you can make for your wedding day.
Photography freezes moments in time, but video brings them back to life. You get to hear voices again, watch people moving again, relive speeches, laughter, dancing, and emotional moments that simply cannot be fully captured in a photograph alone.
Years from now, your wedding film becomes even more meaningful. Parents, grandparents, family members, and loved ones will not be here forever. Being able to hear their voices, see them smiling, watch them walk you down the aisle, help you get ready, or dance during your reception becomes incredibly priceless over time.
And if you decide to have children one day, your wedding film becomes part of your family history too. It is something future generations will treasure in ways that are hard to fully explain until years later.
To me, photography, videography, and albums are the only wedding investments that truly appreciate in value over time because they become more emotionally important with every passing year.
What is included in your wedding videography packages?
All of my wedding videography packages include two videographers. I personally feel this is extremely important because it allows multiple camera angles to be captured throughout the day and helps ensure that important moments are never missed.
All wedding videography collections also include a cinematic wedding film, which I like to call a cinematic love story. These films are carefully edited to feel emotional, timeless, romantic, and immersive rather than simply documenting events in chronological order.
If you visit the video section of my website and watch some of the sample films, you’ll get a really good idea of the storytelling style and emotional feeling I love to create.
Do you record vows and speeches clearly?
Absolutely. Clear audio is one of the most important parts of wedding videography.
We professionally record vows, speeches, ceremonies, and important moments using multiple layers of audio backup whenever possible. Typically, we connect directly into the DJ or sound system while also recording backup audio directly onto cameras and additional recording devices.
For venues that restrict direct soundboard access, like some Disney weddings, we use discreet professional microphones placed on the couple and officiant instead. These microphones are extremely small and hidden carefully so they are not noticeable in photos or video.
Audio is never something we take lightly because hearing your vows, speeches, and loved ones’ voices is such a huge part of what makes wedding films emotional and meaningful years later.
What’s the difference between a wedding videographer and a content creator?
Wedding videography and wedding content creation are actually two very different services, even though they both involve video.
Wedding content creation is typically filmed vertically for social media platforms like Instagram Reels and TikTok. It focuses on behind-the-scenes moments, raw real-time footage, candid clips, trends, and quick snippets throughout the day. The footage is usually delivered quickly and is meant to feel authentic, fun, immediate, and unfiltered.
Wedding videography is much more cinematic and storytelling-focused. It is professionally filmed using multiple cameras, professional audio equipment, stabilization, lighting, and carefully edited footage. The final film is color graded, audio mixed, emotionally paced, and intentionally crafted to feel timeless and immersive.
I usually describe content creation as showing exactly what the wedding day looked like in the moment, while videography is more about creating an emotional film that captures what the day felt like.
How long are wedding films?
My cinematic wedding films are typically between 8–12 minutes long depending on how much coverage and how many events take place throughout the wedding day.
Larger weddings with multiple formalities, longer speeches, cultural traditions, or extended celebrations may naturally result in slightly longer films.
Couples can also add shorter highlight films, which are usually around 1–3 minutes long and perfect for sharing online with friends and family.
What if we want a full documentary edit instead of a cinematic wedding film?
Absolutely. Some couples prefer a full documentary-style edit instead of a cinematic storytelling film, and that option is always available.
A documentary edit is a much longer film that focuses on fully documenting the wedding day from beginning to end using multiple camera angles and complete audio coverage. These edits often include the full ceremony, first look, grand entrance, first dances, parent dances, speeches, cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter toss, shoe game, and other important formalities in their entirety.
Documentary edits are typically around 45 minutes to over an hour long depending on the structure of the wedding day.
Some couples choose documentary edits instead of cinematic films, while others decide to add them on so they can enjoy both storytelling styles.
Engagement & Portrait FAQ
What should we wear for engagement photos?
Pinterest is honestly going to be your best friend when planning outfits for engagement photos or portraits.
I always recommend sticking with timeless outfits rather than anything overly trendy or covered in busy patterns. Neutral colors, soft textures, and outfits that coordinate without perfectly matching tend to photograph the best and age beautifully over time.
If you want to do an outfit change, I usually recommend one outfit that feels a little more formal or elevated and another that feels more relaxed, fun, and natural to your personalities.
The biggest thing is making sure you feel comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing because that confidence always shows in the photos.
Where are the best photo locations in Orlando?
This honestly depends completely on your personalities, your style, and the overall vibe you’re looking for.
Some couples love natural springs and open fields, while others want something more urban, romantic, editorial, colorful, moody, or luxurious. Orlando and Central Florida have so many beautiful portrait locations depending on the type of atmosphere you want for your session.
I’m currently curating a full location directory with some of my favorite engagement and portrait locations throughout Central Florida to help couples narrow down the perfect spot for their session.
What is the best time of day for engagement photos or portraits?
The best lighting for portraits almost always happens closest to sunrise or sunset when the sun is sitting low near the horizon. That softer lighting creates the most flattering skin tones, romantic glow, and dreamy atmosphere in photographs.
The exact timing depends on the location we choose. Some locations open later, close earlier, or become extremely crowded during peak hours.
If we’re photographing at a busy public location, sunrise sessions are often the best option because there are fewer people around. For most other locations, sunset or right before closing time usually creates the prettiest lighting.
What if my fiancé hates taking pictures?
Honestly? Most people say this before their session.
The good news is that engagement sessions are usually much more relaxed and fun than people expect. I guide you through everything naturally so you’re not just awkwardly standing there staring at the camera the entire time.
Most of the session is really just walking together, talking, laughing, moving naturally, and focusing on each other instead of focusing on the camera. I’ll direct you the entire way through so it never feels stiff or uncomfortable.
And if needed… you can always bribe them with tacos, ice cream, coffee, or whatever their favorite post-photo-session reward might be.
Can we bring our dog to our engagement or portrait session?
Absolutely. I love when couples include their pets in sessions.
The biggest thing is making sure the location allows dogs and that they remain leashed whenever required. I also highly recommend bringing a friend, parent, or family member with you specifically to help with the dog.
Usually we’ll start with photos including your dog first, and then once we’re finished, your helper can take them for a walk or bring them home so we can continue the rest of the session smoothly and stress-free.
Boudoir FAQ
Can I bring a friend with me to my boudoir session?
Absolutely. In fact, I highly encourage it if having someone there would make you feel more comfortable and confident.
Bring your biggest hype person. I’ve had clients bring their best friend, maid of honor, matron of honor, sister, or even their mom. Boudoir sessions are supposed to feel empowering, fun, exciting, and supportive, not intimidating.
You absolutely do not need to show up alone unless you want to. Having someone there cheering you on can make the experience even more fun and memorable.
Where do boudoir sessions take place?
All boudoir sessions take place at my preferred professional studio located in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
I exclusively photograph boudoir sessions at this studio because it provides a beautiful, private, comfortable environment with multiple styled sets and backdrops that allow us to create a wide variety of looks throughout your session.
At this time, I do not offer boudoir sessions at hotels, Airbnb properties, or private residences unless the session is on your wedding day at your getting ready location. Keeping everything at the studio helps ensure a consistent experience, better lighting conditions, privacy, comfort, and the overall quality of your final images.
I’m always happy to show examples of the studio beforehand so you can get an idea of the different setups, aesthetics, and overall atmosphere available for your session.
Do I need modeling experience for a boudoir session?
Absolutely not.
Most people who book boudoir sessions have never done anything like this before. Part of the experience is learning how to move, pose, and feel confident in front of the camera in a completely guided and supportive environment.
I walk you through everything from beginning to end, including posing, hand placement, facial expressions, movement, angles, and all the little details that make a huge difference in photos. You do not need any prior experience whatsoever.
What should I wear to a boudoir session?
Honestly, there are no strict rules when it comes to boudoir outfits, and that’s part of what makes it so fun.
I always recommend bringing a variety of options so we can go through everything together and decide what photographs best. If you’re doing the session for yourself, bring outfits that make you feel confident and beautiful. If it’s a gift for your partner, you can also bring styles or looks they particularly love.
I’ve photographed everything from classic lingerie, corsets, stockings, and robes to oversized sweaters, button-up shirts, sports jerseys, favorite band tees, hats, and fully covered cozy looks. Boudoir does not have to be super revealing unless you want it to be.
The most important thing is that the outfits feel like you.
Will my boudoir photos stay private?
Yes, absolutely.
Your boudoir gallery is kept private and hidden online. I will never publicly share your images without your direct permission first.
Occasionally, I may ask if I can use a few favorite images on my website portfolio, but there is never any pressure whatsoever. If you say no, I completely respect that decision.
Honestly, most boudoir clients choose to keep their images private, and I fully understand why. Everyone has different comfort levels, careers, family dynamics, or personal reasons for wanting privacy, and I always respect that completely.
How do I prepare for a boudoir session?
One of the best things you can do is start collecting inspiration photos, poses, outfit ideas, or overall vibes that you love. This helps me better understand your comfort level, personality, and the style you’re drawn toward.
Some people want their session to feel soft and romantic, some want bold and dramatic, and others want cozy, playful, classy, edgy, or glamorous. There’s no right or wrong approach.
A lot of clients also enjoy doing little self-care things beforehand like getting their hair done, nails done, lashes done, waxing, or professional makeup. None of those things are required, but they can definitely help boost confidence going into the session.
What can I do with my boudoir photos afterward?
One of the most popular things clients choose to do is turn their images into a luxury boudoir album.
These albums are often designed as beautiful 8x8 keepsake books and make incredible gifts for anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, Valentine’s Day, or honestly just for yourself.
Whether the session is meant as a personal confidence experience or a gift for someone you love, having the images printed in a professional album makes the experience feel even more special and timeless.
Should I get professional hair and makeup for my boudoir session?
Professional hair and makeup is absolutely not required for a boudoir session, but many clients do choose to have it done because it can help them feel extra confident, polished, and pampered for the experience.
For brides, one of my favorite recommendations is using your wedding hair and makeup trial for your boudoir session. It’s honestly the perfect opportunity to make the most out of your trial appointment while also seeing how your hair and makeup photographs professionally before the wedding day.
A lot of brides will start the session with their hair styled more formally and then later let it down for a softer, more relaxed look during the session. It creates a really beautiful variety throughout the gallery.
At the end of the day, it’s completely up to you and whatever makes you feel the most comfortable, confident, and like yourself.
What is a same-day wedding boudoir session?
One of my most popular boudoir add-ons is what I call a same-day wedding boudoir session.
This takes place on your actual wedding day after your professional hair and makeup is finished but before you get into your wedding dress. We simply build an additional hour into your wedding timeline specifically for boudoir portraits.
A lot of brides love this option because you’re already professionally styled, your hair and makeup are fresh, and everything is already beautifully done for the wedding day. Some brides even choose to keep it a surprise for their partner until after the wedding.
After the boudoir portion is finished, we transition directly into getting dressed and continue with the wedding day coverage normally.
Because boudoir editing requires much more detailed retouching and individualized attention compared to standard wedding portraits, same-day boudoir is offered as a separate add-on even for couples booking full-day wedding coverage.
I also prioritize editing these images first, so you typically receive your boudoir gallery within approximately 1–2 weeks after the wedding day instead of waiting for the full wedding gallery turnaround time. A lot of couples love having the images ready for their honeymoon or one-month anniversary.
Do you Photoshop body modifications in boudoir photos?
No. I do not perform body modifications or drastically alter the way someone naturally looks.
My approach to boudoir is centered around posing, lighting, angles, expression, confidence, and helping you feel beautiful exactly as you are. I guide you carefully throughout the session to flatter your body naturally rather than heavily changing your appearance afterward through editing.
Boudoir is meant to celebrate you, not transform you into someone unrecognizable.
