I’m Michelle Vila, an award-winning Orlando wedding, event, and portrait photographer specializing in timeless storytelling with an editorial edge. With nearly two decades of experience, a degree in photography, and recognition from both peers and publications, I’ve built my career around creating images that are romantic, bold, and forever timeless.

I’m not just a photographer, I’m a storyteller. I capture the candid, unscripted moments while also curating magazine-worthy portraits that feel elegant and effortless. Based in Orlando, I proudly serve couples and families across Central Florida and beyond, with experience in luxury venues, Disney weddings, destination celebrations, and intimate elopements.

As a licensed and insured professional and a proud member of the Central Florida Wedding Association (CFWA), you can feel confident knowing your memories are in the hands of someone who values professionalism, artistry, and trust.

My Journey as a Photographer

The Early Years

In 2005, I picked up my first DSLR camera at Best Buy and started working in their camera department. That’s where my love of photography took root. By 2006, I was photographing concerts and festivals for magazines and webzines. At one of those shows at the House of Blues in Orlando, I happened to meet my husband.

In 2007, we eloped in Paris where I wore my dream Vera Wang gown and took our own wedding portraits in the City of Light. A year later, I photographed my first wedding on the beaches of Fort Lauderdale. I left with a painful sunburn but also a dozen more bookings—proof I had found my calling.

Building My Career

In 2012, I graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale with a degree in Photography, earning the Best Portfolio Award. I also tutored fellow students in photography and business.

By 2016, I became a mom, welcoming my daughter who continues to inspire me every day. In 2020, our family moved to Orlando to expand my business, right in the middle of the pandemic. Those years tested my resilience but made me more committed than ever to my craft.

In 2021, I earned my teaching certification and shared my passion for art and photography with high school students between 2021 and 2023.

In 2023, I returned to photography full time under my new brand, Michelle Vila Photography, focusing on weddings, events, portraits, boudoir, and content creation.

By 2024, I achieved a lifelong dream by joining Disney Fine Art Photography—merging my love of Disney magic with my passion for storytelling.

2025 taught me that photography and creativity are only part of my calling. Entrepreneurship, building my own business, shaping the client experience my way, and growing a brand that I'm proud of has been even more rewarding than anything a corporate role could offer. Having clients who trust  me, value my work, and allow me to create meaningful connections has proven to be one of the greatest gifts of this journey. Providing exceptional service is its own craft, and one I've come to cherish as much as photography itself. That's why I chose to set aside the corporate name tag and proudly wear my own, while still capturing everything I love!

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me with a cup of coffee, exploring Disney, homeschooling my daughter, or blasting 80s music. I’m also an Anglophile, a fantasy nerd, and someone who thinks breakfast food should be eaten at any time of day.

• I once played Magenta in a Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast
• I was named after a Beatles song and made sure my daughter was too
• I’ve been to more than 250-500 concerts (but don’t ask me to name all the bands)
• I homeschool my daughter and have been part of MomCo for years
• I hold both a Photography degree and a Psychology degree (because why not)
• My favorite vacations are Disney Cruises—go ahead, just take my money
